Mobile communication systems are constantly at risk of being adversely affected or damaged by overvoltages, induced DC voltages etc. Protective devices such as surge protectors are used to offset these external influences.

They have the job of safeguarding the connected system without interfering with its operation. Products from SPINNER are excellent suited for protecting mobile communication installations, due to their low PIM, attenuation and reflection.

Overvoltages are typically the result of electromagnetic induction because of events such as lightning strikes. A reliable protection against surges is given only by a proper installation and regular maintenance depending on the protector type. The maintenance intervals depend mainly upon the number and the strength of the impulse current impacts.

The Surge protector 7-16 male to 7-16 female 3000 W 380-512 MHz quarter wavelength stub guarantees excellent, lossless mobile communication quality for use in in-building distributed antenna systems (DAS) or on mobile communication base stations outdoors.

This kind of surge protector with quarter wavelength stub is suitable for applications with single or multiple combined mobile communication bands (e. g. GSM900, GSM1800 and UMTS). DC transmission via the coaxial ports is not possible with this type. The stub can be orthogonal to or folded into the axis of the main line (In line design).

The Surge protector 7-16 male to 7-16 female 3000 W 380-512 MHz quarter wavelength stub enables you to transmit high-frequency signals reliably and flawlessly with optimum protection of your sensitive equipment in a power range up to 3000 W with maximum passive intermodulation (IM3).

The protection class is IP 67.

The 7-16 connector has become the most widely used coaxial connection system for mobile communication systems, due to its excellent mechanical and electrical properties. In order to achieve the industry leading intermodulation performance SPINNER applies silver-plating on all inner and outer conductor parts of the standard connector. As a supporting measure, we use exclusively non-magnetic materials, and we have minimized the number of RF contact points. The connection is especially suited for transmitting medium or high power indoors and outdoors.

The product offers a transition from interface 7-16 male to interface 7-16 female.
