DC Breaks protect your transmission line

Mobile communication systems are constantly at risk of being adversely affected or damaged by over voltages, induced DC voltages etc. Protective devices such as surge protectors and DC breaks are used to offset these external influences. Both have the job of safeguarding the connected system without interfering with its operation. Products from SPINNER are excellent suited for protecting mobile communication installations, due to their low PIM, attenuation and reflection. Our protective devices are available with a choice of 7-16, 4.3-10 or N connector.

DC breaks prevent the propagation of direct current or of signals with low transmission frequencies while allowing RF transmission to proceed smoothly at the same time. SPINNER delivers two types of DC breaks:

            • Types with open inner and outer conductor: They are mainly used for preventing undesirable induced voltage, in communication equipment, e.g. radiating cables. Inducted voltages are generated by e.g. high-power lines in underground train systems.
            • Types with open inner conductor only: They are mainly used for shielding antennas or ground stations from low-frequency signals deliberately fed in for controlling mobile communication antennas or for the power supply of tower mounted amplifiers.

If you can’t find your DC-break according to your specifications online, please contact our sales team with the specification needed per email or select one of the displayed DC-Breaks for a Quote Request and add your special requirements in the comment field of the form before submitting.
