Engineering for modern medical technology

In modern medical technology, radio frequency or fibre-optic technologies are used for the transmission of data, signals, laser or energy for a wide range of applications, e.g. for

  • diagnostic imaging, e.g. Magnetic Resonance Imaging
  • radiation or ion therapy for tumour treatment,
  • laser therapy in surgery, dermatology, dentistry, ophthalmology,
  • measurement of technical devices.

SPINNER products offer a permanent flow of data, signals or high power for this purpose, especially when transmitting through rotating elements with so-called rotary joints, even in the most confined spaces or smallest sizes.

Significant experience in the medical industry

SPINNER can look back on many years of experience as a specialist in the field of high-frequency technology and components of fiber optics in the medical sector. With a pneumatically operated 7-16 coaxial switch for computer tomographs, SPINNER entered the development and supply of RF components for diagnostic imaging in 1984.

In 2011, one of the most modern centers for ion therapy and research in Europe was established in Vienna, offering radiation therapy with both protons and carbon ions together in one place. SPINNER provided coaxial conductors for the transmission of high-power energy for the particle accelerator.

Since then, SPINNER has been supplying well-known manufacturers of medical technology equipment with components of the highest precision, performance and durability.
